Autumn/ Winter Trends 2011 @ Norwich Fashion Week

Norwich Fashion Week is fast approaching! At Vanilla I am preparing the looks, trends and dressing our amazing NFW modelling team to WOW you on the catwalk.

What are we all going to wear ? The Autumn/ Winter trends are inspiring, a retro flash back from early 40’s to late 80’s. It's a season of shapes and having fun with your clothes.

There's a girl/boy look - From chelsea boots to ankle grazing trousers, tailored masculine suiting, tweed, brogues all worn with an air of confidence. With a 60's feel to this look your key pieces should be tailored trousers, a crisp white shirt and man-feel shoes. Sleek tailoring and geometric patterns, polo necks are tucked into pencil skirts, crombie coats and grandad knits.
Louise's Stylist tip: wear your shirts buttoned to the top!

The Prim and Polished Look - The eccentric lady land of all things quirky and thrown together in a stylish way. From lace, brocade, floor scraping knitwear, girly 50's style dresses, kitten heels and ankle lace socks. Kooky vintage inspired pieces from 60's dolly bird to 40's post war Britain. Mary Jane’s are worn with stockings, peter-pan blouses, faux fur and a dressing-up box feel.

The Optic Shock - Our colour wheel from the summer carrys through to A/W'11 - Fabulous hues of rust, orange and berry tones. This look carries through the 70's feel from the summer. Keep your wide leg trousers girls! With all things bright and beautiful - actually make that loose, polka-dotted, digital prinedt, glittery, furry and bejewelled. It only makes sense if you throw it all together :)

The New Native - A shift in the summer homespun look - A Navajo feel with block colour ponchos, tassle boots, prairie embroidery and crochet. Add your block heeled boots and digi-print accessories. Louise's Stylist tip: add shoulder length earings and horn necklaces!
Oversized knitwear, dip-dyed faux fur and sleeveless sheepskin. Layering is key to the native look.

Most of all - Have fun!

More coming soon from me on what we'll all be wearing for the shows!
